The Second School House

In 1761, in the first of many road-widening schemes, the Aldgate was demolished, and the original school building with it. The Trustees took on the lease of a new building in Church Row, once called the Bell Tavern, which had been a school earlier in the century, and the school moved there for the next hundred years.
